    Title of the Project Proposal
Luna: An Autonomous Waste Collection Solution for Urban Sustainability
Origin/Genesis of the Idea (Maximum 50 words)
The genesis of Luna arose from the exigency to address urban waste management, leveraging advancements in robotics to develop an autonomous solution that minimizes human intervention, optimizes efficiency, and contributes to environmental sustainability.
    Background (Maximum 150 words)
Urban environments worldwide are grappling with the escalating challenge of waste management. Traditional methods are increasingly proving inadequate in keeping up with the volume and variety of waste generated. Technological advancements in robotics, sensor technology, and artificial intelligence present unprecedented opportunities to address this challenge. Inspired by existing autonomous systems, such as industrial robots and self-navigating vacuum cleaners, Luna was conceived as a rover-class robot capable of autonomously detecting, collecting, and storing waste across diverse urban terrains. This project encapsulates a multidisciplinary approach, combining mechanical engineering, AI-driven navigation, and environmental science, to create a solution that not only enhances the efficiency of waste management but also aligns with global sustainability goals by reducing environmental pollution and human exposure to hazardous waste.
Objectives (Maximum 2-3 objectives, Maximum 50 words)
To develop an autonomous rover capable of efficient waste detection and collection.
To integrate AI and sensor technologies for enhanced navigation and obstacle avoidance.
To contribute to environmental sustainability by reducing waste-related pollution in urban areas.
